Welcome to our Java-based Live IRC Chat. Once you click on the Join Chat button below you will be led thru a series of steps.
1. Trigger loading of chat room Join Chat
2. The screen will go grey while the Java Virtual Machine is loading...

Eventually if all is well, two prompts will appear: one for your username and one for your choice of server, followed by a "Connect" button.

Please enter a user name (or "nick", as irc users call it) that others will know you by during the chat.

Now, choose a server from the drop down menu. Any of them should be fine; the choices are there for in case one or more experience connectivity issues.
4. Next, click on "Connect", and the Java based IRC chat window should appear.
5. If you have difficulties, please first update to the current Java Virtual Mahine from Sun.
